Opus - is a totally open, royalty-free, highly versatile audio codec intended for storage and streaming applications. Standardized by IETF as RFC 6716, it incorporates technology from Skype's SILK codec and Xiph.Org's CELT codec.

Opus can scale from low bit rate narrowband speech to high quality stereo music and is ideal in VOIP applications. It offers very high quality with very low delay.

Ogg Vorbis - A completely open, patent free, audio encoding and streaming format that all of our software and hardware supports.

Speex - A patent free audio compression format designed to provide a free low bit rate compression alternative to expensive proprietary speech codecs. Based on CELP, it is designed to compress voice at bit rates ranging from 2 to 44 kbits/s.

Xiph - The Xiph oggdsf project aims to provide the most complete implementation of Xiph.org codecs (including Vorbis and Speex) for Windows and DirectShow.

You can download the appropriate plugin here to support these codecs on your Windows media player. Recommended when using our VTlogger's WebGUI on a Windows desktop to search and listen to calls recorded with one of these codecs.

Sofia SIP - is an open source SIP User-Agent library compliant with IETF RFC 3261. It is based on a SIP stack developed at the Nokia Research Center and is licensed under GNU LGPL. It has been integrated and extended into our new telephony driver/API framework, enabling us to support VOIP within our telephony product offerings.

Debian - a Free Operating System that is our preferred choice of Linux distribution and is supported by all our telephony cards and software building blocks. Voicetronix supports Debian package builds for all of its software offerings.
